I would like to thank the Members of the School Board for their willingness to serve this year. All of their efforts are greatly appreciated.  

• The first meeting of the School Board was held on September 21^st, 2006. Leadership and goals for each of the committees was confirmed for the year.

• On October 19^th, the second meeting of the year was held which provided an opportunity to acknowledge the commitment of the school staff and teachers. After a brief board meeting, a “Meet the Teachers” event was held with about 50 people in attendance. This yearly event provides an opportunity for the teachers and staff to meet the new members of the School Board. A special thanks to Valerie Wittstadt and Darlene Bromwell for organizing this event.

• A recommendation was made to the Pastor to repair and re-surface the bleachers in the School Gymnasium. Terry Jones and Jim Roenick (School Operations Committee Chairperson) have been working together to assess the problem and solicit quotations. Preliminary quotations are in the range of $10,000 to $11,000 for repair of the under carriage and re-surfacing. Several ideas were also discussed regarding ways to raise money to pay for this project. Fund raising discussions will continue once the findings of the recently completed technology assessment are reviewed and discussed along with other projects in the Parish. Both the School Board and the PTF are committed to assist with these projects. A special thanks to Terry and Jim for their efforts.
