From the Administrator

What do the following have in common?

                  The creation of the Frisbee

“I Love Lucy” (the original) was in its last year

Dr. Suess wrote “Cat in the Hat.”

It all happened 50 years ago just like the building of St John School at its present 43 Monroe Street address. The year is 1957, when a stamp cost 3 cents and gas was 23 cents per gallon. Any idea what tuition cost for a high school for one year in 1957? Parents of current Catholic High students do not want to know!!!

Fifty years ago this year, we began the transition from our Main Street location to Monroe Street. There are many alumni who still remember the excitement of moving from one location to another and there are many more alumni who attended St. John School from 1 - 12th grade or some part of it.

In honor of this momentous occasion 50 years ago, the Development Office of the school, spearheaded by Mr. Ralph Arnold, is trying to locate alumni from the high school to invite them to gather together for this Golden Jubilee. If you are an alumnus and/or know of alumni or anyone who attended the high school, please have them send an email to Ralph Arnold, Class of 1969. (rarnold@monlife.com) or call the School Development Office 410-876-2248  x218 . Thank you!

                Peace,
