From the Pastor
I want to thank you for your continued and faithful prayers and give you an update on the bone marrow transplant procedure. First the prayers: they are a constant and powerful source of support, and are deeply appreciated. Please know that you are in my prayers at daily Mass. I am so fortunate and blessed to have your ongoing care and support.
The initial tests (30 days after the transplant) indicate the donor marrow has taken over 100%. They tell me this is an excellent but early result. Sixty days after the procedure, that is the end of November, a bone marrow test will be performed to give the hospital a better indication of the condition of the transplant. I have been doing well except for some weight loss and low energy levels. I go to Hopkins three days a week for blood tests and occasional transfusions.
I am deeply grateful to Father Patrick and our entire Pastoral Staff for their continued support. I also appreciate your cooperation and patience. I look forward to seeing you again.
MSGR. ART’S ADDRESS: If you would like to send a card or note to Msgr. Art, the address is: St. Rose of Lima Rectory, 3803 4th Street, Baltimore, MD 21225.
