From the Pastor
Some of our more observant parishioners have noticed an addition to our sanctuary. The “Deacon Bench” placed behind the ambo was part of the original sanctuary furniture of our 1865 church. It has been refinished and restored for use in our new church.
At the suggestion of the Pastoral Council, we will have our Stewardship Weekend October 8th and 9th. Information will be sent to all registered parishioners with a report of last year’s actual numbers and the current year’s budget. Our fiscal year runs from July 1 to June 30. The challenge in this year’s budget is the debt repayment. Thanks to your pledges and sacrifices we are able to meet our obligation. A weekly offertory average of $30,700 is our goal. More detail will be in the mailing and explained during Stewardship Weekend. Thank you for your generous and faithful stewardship.
May God bless you,
DUE TO SCHEDULING CONFLICTS, there will be NO 7:00 a.m. Mass during the week of Monday, August 1 – Friday, August 5 2005.
Also, Effective September 5, 2005, there will be a change in the weekday Mass schedule. The normal weekday schedule will be 7:00 a.m. and 9:30 a.m. Monday through Friday. Saturday morning Mass will remain at 8:00 a.m. During civic holidays (Fourth of July, Memorial Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving Day), the parish will offer one parish Mass at 9:30 a.m. The changes to the normal weekday Mass schedule will allow the school children and families to participate in daily liturgies, allow more time for private devotions and personal prayers between the morning Masses, and it also gives our parishioners a chance to avoid the morning rush hour commute. Should you have any questions about this, please speak with one of the priests or pastoral staff members.

PRAYER for the CANONIZATION of JOHN PAUL THE GREAT
O Blessed Trinity, We thank you for having graced the Church with Pope John Paul II
And for allowing the tenderness of your Fatherly care,
The glory of the cross of Christ,
And the splendor of the Holy Spirit, to shine through him.
Trusting fully in Your infinite mercy
And in the maternal intercession of Mary,
He has given us a living image of Jesus the Good Shepherd,
And has shown us that holiness is the necessary measure of ordinary Christian life and is the way of achieving eternal communion with You.
Grant us, by his intercession. And according to Your will,
The graces we implore, (state your intentions)
Hoping that he will soon be numbered among your saints. Amen.
