From the Pastor

Thank you for your continued prayers for Sister Bernadette and Father Gerard. Sister Bernadette will complete her six-week schedule of treatments at Johns Hopkins Hospital next Tuesday. She will take some to time to rest and visit with her family the next couple of weeks. Father Gerard is well on the road to recovery from his recent heart by-pass surgery.  Both have told me that they are praying for our parish during their treatments and hospital stays. Their prayers, personal witness and service have been a tremendous source of blessing for our parish.

Next week, (Wednesday afternoon through Friday afternoon), Father Leo, Father Brian and I will participate in a convocation of the priests of our Archdiocese, the Vicar Bishops and Cardinal Keeler. The convocation will take place in Gettysburg . The focus will be on our unity in the priesthood of Our Lord. Please keep us in your prayers.

May God bless you,

SPECIAL NOTICE

THIS THURSDAY, SEPTEMBER 23 & FRIDAY, SEPTEMBER 24, the priests of St. John will be attending the Presbyteral Convocation. There will be a Communion Service on Thursday at 8:00 a.m. and again on Friday at 9:30 a.m. (there will be no morning Masses these days as Fr. Gerard, who would normally celebrate these Masses is still recuperating from his surgery). The following Mass intentions, which would have been said for Thursday and Friday, will be offered by our parish priests during the convocation: Brennan Asplen Sr., Marjorie Moss, Peter Daley, and Ted Hollenbaugh. Please pray for our parish priests and all priests attending the Convocation.

MESSAGE FROM SISTER BERNADETTE: I can't thank you all enough for the prayers, letters, cards and random acts of kindness you have showered upon me! On September 7th,  I celebrated my 64th birthday and my 44th year as an SSND. I can't imagine being in a better place and I continue to pray for you all! Please keep me in your prayers too!  Sister Marie Bernadette (Sr. Bern).
