From the Pastor

    All registered parishioners should have received a mailing from the parish that included an envelope requesting a donation for our annual Summer Benefit Collection.

    This collection replaced the summer benefit that was held to help the parish meet its budget during the summer months. I would like to thank all who have already responded and invite all others to prayerful consider making a donation. If you have not received the mailing, please notify the parish office. Additional envelopes are available near the doors of the church. The sacrifices that you make and your continued, faithful stewardship, and generous donations are deeply appreciated. 

    Thank you for your prayers for Sister Bernadette. Sister is doing very well. Although she has been weakened by the surgery, she continues to remain strong in spirit and in faith. At this time, it seems that additional treatment will be necessary. Please continue to keep Sister and her family in your prayers.

Liturgy & Worship

SPIRITUAL CAUTION: Please do not put anything on the bulletin boards or leave papers in the church vestibules or pews. For example: A Chain Letter – Novena Prayer; Although novenas are wonderful spiritual gifts, chain letters are not – as they borderline on superstition rather than faith. PERPETUAL ADORATION – YOUR OPPORTUNITY to SPEND TIME with the LORD. We currently have two Adoration hours with no scheduled adorer and are being covered by substitutes; Monday 1 a.m. to 2 a.m. If you are willing to adopt one of these hours, please call the Parish Center. The following hours have one scheduled adorer but we would like to have at least one more for each hour: Sundays – Midnight, 2,3, & 8 a.m.; and 12 noon & 6 p.m.; Mondays – 1, 2 & 11 a.m.; Tuesdays – 3 & 7 a.m. and 1 & 11 p.m.; Wednesdays – 1,2 & 3 a.m. and 3 p.m.; Thursdays – 2 a.m. and 12:00 noon, 1 & 3 p.m.; Fridays – 12 midnight, 2&3 a.m., and 12 noon & 1 p.m.; Saturdays – 1,2 & 3 a.m.; and 1,2,3,9  & 10 p.m. Please call the parish office if you can fill one hour.

School News

NO PACKET PICKUP this summer. Information will be sent home on the first day of school and posted on the web site.

 

GROCERY CERTIFICATES & GIFT CARDS may be purchased in the parish office during the summer months on Monday – Friday, from 9 – 12:00 noon.

 

CONGRATULATIONS to the Students whose artwork was selected for display at the Carroll County Arts Council. The art will be displayed on the 2^nd floor until the first week of August.

 

YEARBOOK PICTURES: Anyone who placed an ad with pictures may pick up their pictures at school on Wednesdays between 9 a.m. and 12 Noon.

 

 Religious Ed./Youth Activities

OFFICE ASSISTANT NEEDED: The Religious Ed. Office has a part-time, paid position available. The person hired will work Tuesdays and Thursdays from 4 – 8:15 p.m. and will be responsible for answering phones, documenting attendance, and general office duties throughout the school year. If you are interested in applying, please, call Paul in the Religious Ed. Office.

 

CONFIRMATION CLASSES: If you are planning on registering your 8^th or 9^th grader for Confirmation classes, you must do so now. The registration deadline was June 24^th, and several classes are already full. Please stop by the Religious Ed. Office in the Parish Center to complete the enrollment forms.

 

TEACHERS & ASSISTANTS are NEEDED for NEXT YEAR: The program cannot exist without the help of many volunteers! We want to keep our class size to a minimum. Maybe God is calling you to share your Catholic faith with the young people of our parish and to grow in your faith experience. Please call the Religious Ed. Office to find out how easy it is.

REGISTRATION FOR 2004/2005: Registration forms have been mailed to all families in the program. For those who are not already in the program, call the Religious Ed Office to register.

We will be joined by a group call Crossroads who have just walked from Ohio to Maryland preaching the pro-life message. There will be testimonies, skits, music and more.

ADULT EDUCATION … Monday Evenings in July

At 7:00 p.m. in the St. Theresa Room of the Parish Center and continuing each Monday evening in July. The Sacraments in the Scriptures: This course will focus on the Scriptural foundation of the seven sacraments. The book for this course will be available for $10 during the first session.

At 7:00 p.m. in the parish hall (old church). Have you or someone you know been divorced but never went through the Church’s annulment process? There are many misconceptions about annulments. Fr. MISSION of MERCY, a non-profit community-based organization is looking for dentists and nurses to volunteer one Wednesday per month at their Westminster site or one Tuesday per month in Reisterstown. Mission of Mercy’s mission is to restore dignity to the sick, poor, homeless and uninsured by providing free medical and dental care.
