From the Pastor

It is time for an update on the progress of the seminarians who are working in our parish. Jim Sorra will complete his pastoral year in our parish this summer. This fall he will return to St. Mary’s Seminary in Baltimore to continue his studies and formation. Jim will work in our parish on weekends beginning in September. Tyson Wood will also serve in our parish this summer as well as his military obligations as chaplain in the Army Reserve. Please join me in welcoming our new Pastoral Year Seminarian, Laureano “Jhun” Abila. Jhun has just completed his second year of theology at Mt. St. Mary’s Seminary. He will be serving in our parish throughout the coming year. Jhun will introduce himself at the Masses this weekend. Deacon Michael DeAscanis will be ordained a priest on June 26th at 10 am in the Cathedral of Mary Our Queen. He will celebrate his First Mass at St. John’s on Sunday, June 27th at 11:15 am. Thank you for all of your prayers and support for our seminarians and for vocations to priesthood, religious life and the deaconate.

May God bless you,
