From the Pastor
On the Liturgical Calendar, this Sunday (the Solemnity of Pentecost) brings the Easter season to its conclusion. On our “Mental Health Calendar,” this Monday (Memorial Day) signals the approach of summer. Pentecost is not so much the ending of a liturgical season as it is the celebration of the beginning of the Church. With the coming of the Holy Spirit, the first disciples were empowered to go and teach all nations and witness to the presence, grace and power of God revealed to the world in Christ. Strengthened by the same Holy Spirit, may we be faithful to the call to holiness. Memorial Day also has a profound meaning; calling us to remember those who have died in defense of our nation. This weekend provides us with a unique opportunity to appreciate the sacred and the profound in the ordinary experiences of life.
May God bless you,
