From the Pastor

    Our children in the second grade were offered the opportunity to celebrate the sacrament of Reconciliation this weekend. I want to congratulate the children and thank their parents and teachers for enabling the children to experience God’s mercy and forgiveness as they prepare for their First Holy Communion. The reconciliation rooms (confessionals) are located on both side aisles in the main nave of the new church. When the rooms are completed, they will have kneelers and screens as well as chairs for those who prefer to speak directly to the priest. Thank you for your continued patience as we adjust to our new church building. I have been promised that the outside lights around the perimeter of the building will be installed soon.

    Please consider making Mass the central part of your families Thanksgiving Day this year. The offering of food will be given to Carroll County Food Sunday, the collection will be donated to Shepherd’s Staff, and a blessing will be offered for food items that will be part of your Thanksgiving dinner.

THANKSGIVING DAY … Thursday, November 27

Mass will be celebrated at 9:00 a.m. in the church. Please bring a non-perishable food item as a gift of thanksgiving to be given to Carroll County Food Sunday. You are welcome to bring a food item to be served on your table to receive a blessing at Mass.

 

THOSE WHO WISH TO LIGHT THE ADVENT CANDLES at the beginning of Mass may sign up on the poster in the back of church.

RCIA II, INFO NIGHT … Tuesday, November 25

PENANCE SERVICE for TUESDAY STUDENTS …Tues., Dec. 2

For grades 3-8 only. Parents, please bring your child directly to the church for the 4:30 p.m. and the 6:45 p.m. sessions. Students will sit with their class; the pews will be marked with the teachers’ name. Please be prompt so that we can begin on time.

 

NOTICE for THURSDAY STUDENTS: There will be no classes on Thursday, December 4^th due to the preparations for the Christmas Bazaar. The class will be on Wednesday, December 3^rd for both the 4:30 p.m. and the 6:45 p.m. sessions.

THANKSGIVING DINNER … Thursday, November 27

The Shepherds Staff annual community Thanksgiving Dinner will be held in the St. John School Cafeteria to bring together those who wish to share the blessings, feastings, and fellowship of Thanksgiving Day. There is no charge and all are welcome! Please help St. Vincent de Paul to provide the canned vegetables (101 ounce - #10 cans of Green beans, whole kernel corn, sauerkraut, apple sauce, and cranberry sauce). MEMORIAL BRICKS: We will have a 3^rd opportunity to purchase a memorial brick. 4 x 8 brick forms are available in the parish office.
