From the Pastor

    Thank you for your continued patience and cooperation during the construction of our new church. As the dedication date approaches, I continue to receive many questions. Yes, the dedication is scheduled for 2 p.m. on Sunday, October 26^th.  Some parishioners who received tickets for The Dedication Mass have returned them so that others may attend. The lottery will continue until all the tickets are distributed. Our main altar, which has been in use in our parish for more than 135 years, will be placed in the sanctuary of our new church this week. The 8 am daily Masses for the coming week will be celebrated in the cafeteria. Next weekend’s Masses and all Masses up to the dedication of the new church, will be celebrated in our existing church. Thank you again for your understanding.

Liturgy & Worship

IMPORTANT MASS INFORMATION: Please note a few necessary changes to the regular Mass schedule, due to the construction:

·   Daily Mass from Mon., September 29 through Thurs., October 2 will be 7:00 a.m. only, in the church, There will be no 8:00 a.m. Mass.

·   On October 26 the 12:00 noon, 3:15 p.m. (Spanish), and the 6:00 p.m. Masses will not be celebrated due to the lengthy Dedication Liturgy of the new Church.

 

FIRST FRIDAY MORNING MASSES ...  October 3

Morning Masses will be at 7:00 a.m. and 9:15 a.m. (attended by St. John School) in the church.

 

CHILDREN’S LITURGY ... Saturday, October 4

The 4:30 p.m. Mass will be a children’s liturgy.

 

SACRAMENT of the SICK: We invite you to participate in a regular weekend Mass that will include the Sacrament of the Sick…an anointing with Holy and Healing Oils, on Saturday, October 11^th at 6:30 p.m. and Sunday, October 12^th at 12:00 noon. Those who are encouraged to participate are those (of any age) who suffer from any type of illness, such as emotional, mental, and physical illness. Please note this Sacrament is NOT to be confused with “Last Rites,” the intention of this Sacrament is one of healing in body, mind and soul. From 9:30 a.m. to 3:00 p.m., at Bon Secours Retreat House in Mariottsville. Members will meet for a day of prayer, meditation and reflection. Father Leo will be our moderator. WISDOM CLUB 25^th ANNIVERSARY … Thurs., October 23

Mass will be celebrated at 12:00 noon at St. John Church and then to Bullock’s Airport Inn for a luncheon. Beautifully decorated tables, favors, and “words of wisdom” from our Church Staff will highlight the day. All members past and present are invited to celebrate this important milestone. CURSILLO WEEKEND RETREATS Fr. Leo is the spiritual director for this movement and he invites you to grow in discipleship by coming to a weekend experience. Join us as we stand to offer one hour of prayer for the 1.4 million babies killed by abortion in the U.S. last year.
