From the Pastor
Hopefully you had an opportunity to see the recent feature the Carroll County Times did on the Perpetual Eucharistic Adoration in our parish. This opportunity for quiet prayer in the presence of the Blessed Sacrament continues to be a source of tremendous blessing for our parish. There are several time slots (one-hour periods) that we are having some difficulty filling. If you are interested in learning more about perpetual adoration, or would like to volunteer to participate, please call the parish office. I guarantee it will have a significant impact on your life.
If you did not yet receive a ticket for the dedication Mass for our new church, there are still possibilities. There will be more tickets to distribute once we receive a response from those who have already received tickets. A video hookup will enable us to broadcast the dedication Mass in our existing church building. Your continued prayers and support are deeply appreciated.
May God bless you,
A NOTE REGARDING ST. JOHN TRAVEL BASKETBALL: This season begins a new direction for the Boys and Girls Parish Travel Basketball teams. St. John will be entering into competition in the CYO basketball leagues within the Archdiocese, and will be represented in the CYO leagues by boys and girls travel teams in the 4-8th grades. I am very excited about this new opportunity for our parish youth to become involved in the area Catholic Youth Organization. Should you be interested in volunteering or if you need additional information, please contact Lisa Hurley at 410-875-0376 or email lwhurley@hurleyir.com. Boys and girls interested in trying out for these teams should register at the St. John Boys Basketball signups.
