From the Pastor

I want to thank everyone who responded generously to the Cardinal’s Lenten Appeal. This year’s total is $51,713.00. Our parish pledged to donate our rebate from the appeal to the tuition assistance fund for St. Michael School in Frostburg and the ongoing ministry to the poor in Haiti. We recently sent a check for $5,166.40 to each worthy cause. Thank you again for your support.

Please join me in welcoming back the students, teachers and parents to our parish school. With the ongoing construction traffic and the additional school traffic, please use extra caution when driving on our campus, especially during school hours.

Seminarian Jim Sorra began his pastoral internship year with our parish this past Monday. He is a student at St. Mary’s Seminary in Baltimore, and will continue his placement in our parish for the next twelve months. Please welcome him to our parish.  Seminarian Patrick Peach will complete his summer assignment with us this week and return to Rome in the fall to continue his studies for the priesthood. It was a pleasure to have him with us this summer and I encourage you to keep Patrick and all our seminarians in your prayers. Seminarian Tyson Wood will continue his studies at Mt. St. Mary’s Seminary this fall and maintain his weekend assignment in our parish.

                May God bless you,

BIBLE STUDY NEWS: The Gospel of John

"In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God.  He was in the beginning with God; all things were made through Him, and without Him was not anything made that was made.” (John 1:1-3). John traces the origin of the Word into eternity past, where God the Son was present to God the Father before time itself began.  The 2nd week of September, we will begin the study of the Gospel of John. The study will run for the Fall and Spring sessions.  Registration forms are at the door of the Church. For more information, contact Beverly Backof at 410-876-6275 or bbackof@hotmail.com.
