From the Pastor

Slightly more that a year ago, Seminarian Michael DeAscanis, having completed three years of theology in Rome, arrived in our parish to begin his pastoral year. Next month Deacon Michael will return to Rome to complete his seminary preparation for ordination to the priesthood. I am looking forward to his return to our parish, as a priest to celebrate Mass for our parish. I want to thank Deacon Michael for all his hard work, faithful ministry and prayers. I also want to assure him of our continued prayers as he responds to God’s call in his life. Let us also pray for vocations to the priesthood, religious life and diaconate from our parish.

Next Sunday our parish will celebrate its first Summer Picnic in many years. The Parish Picnic is an important part of our 150th anniversary celebration. I hope many of our parishioners will be able to participate. I am especially grateful to Pat and Sue Scheper and the picnic committee members who have worked hard to make this event possible. Hope to see you there and please pray for good weather.

                May God bless you,
