MEN’S FELLOWSHIP GROUP … Sunday, October 20

WISDOM CLUB HOMECOMING … Thursday, October 24

A great Pot Luck Luncheon to honor longtime members and to celebrate their special commitment to the values of the Wisdom Club. Mass will be celebrated in the hall of the Ascension Episcopal Church at 12:00 noon. ADULT EDUCATION OPPORTUNITY … October 25-26

Well known author and lecturer Marcellino D’Ambrosio, PhD, will be offering a 3-part presentation entitled Exploring the Catholic Church – October 25 beginning at 7:30 p.m. “Who needs the Catholic Church” and October 26 from 9  – 11:30 a.m. “Who needs Confession?” & “Getting more out of Mass.”  4 Clock hours will be given to catechists. RENEWAL of MARRIAGE VOWS ... Saturday, October 26

Couples married in October are invited to renew their marriage vows at the 4:30 p.m. Mass. If you wish to participate, please sign up in the Sunday Sacristy or call the parish office in advance of the weekend.

 

CO-OP NURSERY … Beginning, November 17

Childcare will be provided for ages 1-5 during the 8:45 and 10:30 a.m. Masses in the St. Matthew room of the school building.  An organizational meeting for interested families will be held on Tues., Oct. 22, at 7 p.m. in the St. Matthew room. WISDOM CLUB CHRISTMAS SHOW … Thurs., Dec. 5

This trip to Lancaster’s American Music Theater includes bus, show and lunch at Hershey’s Farm. Bus leaves St. John at 10:30 a.m. and returns at 7:30 p.m. The cost is $60 per person. NEW BEGINNINGS is being held in the parish center on the 1^st and 3^rd Thursdays each month from 7–9 p.m., to provide separated and divorced people a forum to exchange experiences, ideas and opinions on subjects of interest to singles. CO-OP NURSERY DONATIONS NEEDED: New or gently used toys and children’s books, as well as a changing table and playpen.  We will open the nursery on Sunday, November 17^th.  If you are able to make a donation, please contact Peggy Rager at 410-848-0790 or Ann Mussina at 410-751-9844.

 

TOGETHER we can MAKE IT is an 8-10 week small support group with a limited number of participants and two facilitators using specific materials. We are pleased to introduce this support group at St. John. The goal of the grant received from the Mercy Mission Fund, Sisters of Mercy, Regional Community of Baltimore, is to establish this program within the Archdiocese on a continuous basis to assist those in need of this support. MARRIAGE PREPARATION: St. John Catholic Church will begin Pre-Cana Classes to assist couples preparing for marriage. We’re looking for married couples to help. Couples must be married at least 5 years and have a sincere desire (notice: we’re not asking for “perfect”) to promote and strengthen marriage values. Training will be provided. Time requirements are very limited for this ministry. For more information, contact Fr. Leo Patalinghug.

 

NEW YORK CITY BUS TRIP … Saturday, December 14

PICTORIAL DIRECTORY—SMILE and don't miss the opportunity to have your family photo shown in our Pictorial Directory—a listing of all parish members—preferably in pictures. The only cost to you is the 15 minutes it takes to have your professional photo taken in the school by Campus Creations - Taylor Publishing, Monday through Friday from 4 – 9 p.m., the weeks of Oct. 28, Nov. 4 and 11, and Saturday, Nov. 2, from 11 a.m. – 6 p.m.  There is no obligation to purchase any photographs, or the directory. A free directory will be given to those purchasing a picture package.
